About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Clinical Research Nurse (RN) to join our outpatient cardiology practice. In this role, you will coordinate clinical research trials, manage patient study protocols, and deliver specialized cardiac care within a multidisciplinary clinical team.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate day-to-day clinical trial operations according to study protocols, GCP standards, and regulatory guidelines.
- Lead patient recruitment, screening, informed consent, and clinical assessments for cardiac research studies.
- Perform clinical nursing duties: sample collection/processing, patient monitoring, and drug administration per protocol.
- Maintain complete and accurate source documentation, Case Report Forms (CRFs), and Electronic Data Capture (EDC) entries.
- Liaise with study sponsors, Clinical Research Associates (CRAs), ethics boards, and principal investigators.
- Monitor patient safety, document adverse events, and ensure prompt escalation when necessary.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education & Registration: Current General Class Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Experience: Minimum 3+ years of clinical nursing experience in cardiology
- Minimum 3+ years of clinical research experience
- Certifications:
- Active BCLS required (ACLS preferred).
- Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and TCPS 2 certification (or willingness to complete prior to start date).
- SOCRA (CCRP) or ACRP certification is an asset.
- Skills: Strong clinical assessment skills, familiar with cardiovascular protocols, exceptional organization, data entry accuracy, and strong communication skills.
