Job description
Tutti Frutti Breakfast & Lunch in Edmonton is hiring a full-time Bakery Supervisor.
We operate in a senior living/community environment and serve many senior residents and guests. We are looking for a reliable, experienced, and detail-oriented candidate with strong bakery or food service experience, as well as a respectful, patient, and compassionate attitude toward seniors.
This is not an entry-level position. The successful candidate will help supervise daily bakery operations, coordinate production, support staff, monitor product quality and freshness, assist with inventory control, and ensure excellent service in a fast-paced restaurant and bakery environment.
Main duties
The Bakery Supervisor will be responsible for:
- Supervising and coordinating bakery staff and daily bakery operations
- Preparing, baking, finishing, and displaying breads, cakes, pastries, and other baked goods according to company standards
- Planning daily production based on expected sales, customer demand, inventory levels, and product shelf life
- Monitoring product quality, freshness, expiry dates, cleanliness, and display standards
- Training staff in job duties, sanitation, food safety procedures, workplace safety, and customer service standards
- Assigning daily tasks and helping organize staff workflow during busy periods
- Monitoring inventory and assisting with ordering ingredients, packaging, and bakery supplies
- Helping reduce waste and maintain consistent product availability
- Providing respectful, patient, and compassionate service to senior residents, guests, and customers
- Understanding and responding appropriately to the needs of seniors in a courteous and professional manner
- Handling customer requests and product concerns professionally
- Maintaining clean, organized, and safe work areas, equipment, storage areas, and displays
- Ensuring compliance with food safety, sanitation, and workplace health and safety standards
- Supporting management with staff performance, operational improvements, and daily service needs
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience in baking, bakery production, restaurant kitchen, supermarket bakery, or food service operations
- Supervisory, team lead, staff coordination, or staff training experience is required
- Experience with production planning, inventory control, expiry-date monitoring, or ingredient ordering is an asset
- Experience working with seniors, senior living communities, healthcare food service, or hospitality service is an asset
- Must be respectful, patient, compassionate, and comfortable serving senior residents and guests
- Ability to work in a fast-paced restaurant and bakery environment
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
- Strong communication, organization, time management, and teamwork skills
- Reliable, punctual, detail-oriented, and able to work independently
- Food safety knowledge is an asset
- Must be available to work day shifts, weekends, holidays, and early shifts as required
Education
Secondary school graduation certificate is preferred.
