We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional support at the front desk, manage patient interactions, and ensure smooth daily operations within a busy endoscopy day surgery. Duties
- Greet patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner at the front desk
- Manage multi-line phone systems, schedule appointments, and coordinate patient flow
- Maintain accurate records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Occuro Cloud.
- Verify patient information, update medical histories, and process insurance documentation
- Assist with administrative tasks including filing, data entry, and managing correspondence
- Prepare and organize patient charts, forms, and other documentation for provider review
- Ensure compliance with healthcare privacy regulations and office policies
- Support clinical staff with basic administrative duties as needed
Skills
- Proficiency with electronic medical records systems such as Occuro Cloud
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to healthcare settings
- Previous experience as a endoscopy clinic, dental receptionist, n a day surgery or medical office environment preferred
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in managing patient information
- Effective communication skills for interacting with patients, staff, and insurance companies
- Ability to handle multi-line phone systems efficiently and professionally
- Office experience including front desk responsibilities and administrative support
- Familiarity with healthcare software applications and office equipment
Qualifications:
- Complete high school education, Manitoba standards, required.
- Successful completion of a Unit Clerk Course and/or a Medical Office Assistant Course required.
- Basic Life Support recognized by the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada (i.e., CPR) provide certificate if it is made available.
- A combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Experience in a medical clinic is an asset.
- Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and customer service skills

Pay: $18.00-$25.67 per hour
