As a Senior Business Analyst, you'll play a key role in delivering technology solutions that drive business success. You'll be responsible for process and information modeling, business architecture documentation, requirements analysis, and functional test planning for mid- to large-sized projects. Partnering with business stakeholders, Information Technology teams, and vendors, you'll help translate business needs into sustainable, scalable solutions that support strategic objectives.
Led by the Manager, IT Business Solutions, this opportunity suits a collaborative and strategic Business Analyst who enjoys solving complex business challenges, building strong stakeholder relationships, and influencing solutions from concept through delivery.

- Partner with Solution Owners to create business roadmaps and ensure projects achieve business outcomes and deliver sustainable solutions.

Partner with Project Managers to develop business cases, project scopes, project management plans, estimates, risk assessments, and other project documentation.

Research, assess, and validate proposed solutions against business requirements to ensure business needs are met.

Lead requirements elicitation, analysis, documentation, and communication for functional and non-functional requirements (Waterfall projects).

Create and maintain product backlogs or partner with Product Owners to refine and prioritize backlog items (Agile projects).

Support project testing through test planning, test case creation, and test execution.

Partner with business stakeholders to support vendor evaluation and selection.

Provide leadership and mentorship to other Business Analysts by setting priorities, assigning work, and guiding deliverables.

Develop effort estimates for your own work and the work of other Business Analysts.

Measure the achievement of project objectives during project assessments.

Facilitate workshops to design and model business processes, information, roles, and other business architecture elements.

Present business architecture designs to technical and business audiences.

Manage and resolve conflicts related to business architecture, escalating issues as appropriate.
We’re looking for:
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Business Analysis, Information Technology, Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field. Completion of the Ivey HBA program is considered a strong asset, along with professional certifications such as CBAP, BABOK, IIBA, or Certified Professional Facilitator (CPF).

Five to eight years of experience in business analysis, technology, consulting, or a related field, preferably within a retail, wholesale, distribution, or consumer-facing organization.

Experience supporting retail business functions such as merchandising, supply chain, inventory management, store operations, customer experience, or enterprise business systems is preferred.

Demonstrated ability to bridge business strategy and technology delivery, with a strong understanding of how operational processes, customer needs, and technology solutions intersect in a retail environment.

Strong understanding of business analysis methodologies, business process modeling (BPMN 2.0), information modeling, and business architecture practices.

Experience working in both Agile (Scrum) and Waterfall project environments.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.

Strong written communication skills, with the ability to produce both formal and informal documentation.

Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.

Excellent stakeholder management, relationship-building, and facilitation skills, with experience collaborating across cross-functional teams and with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Experience delivering business and technology projects of varying size and complexity while meeting timelines and quality expectations.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Self-motivated, adaptable, and results-oriented, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a changing environment.

Ability to balance business risk, cost, and value when recommending solutions.

Experience working with Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS), Cloud, and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions, including partnering with external vendors.

The ability to be onsite three days a week at our corporate office in St. Jacobs, to accommodate our hybrid working model.

- The expected starting salary range for this role is $82,100 - $114,900; the final offer will reflect relevant skills and experience.
