Salary: Position is wage top up eligible when supervising children. Top of salary range is designated for a Level 3 Child Development Supervisor including top up. Base salary range is between 18.00 and 21.00 per hour.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Child Development Assistant (or higher) who possesses a valid Alberta commercial driver’s license. This role will involve supporting the development and well-being of children in our care while ensuring safe transportation from our center in the community of Manchester to our program in Haysboro, which is 4 kilometers each way. You will be responsible for a group of six kindergarten children, transporting them in a 10-passenger van four times per day. The ideal candidate must be able to independently supervise children.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently supervise children while transitioning to and from the vehicle.
- Transport children safely from our Manchester center to our Haysboro program and back.
- Track attendance using Timesavr.
- Conduct and document daily safety checks of the vehicle.
- Maintain the vehicle by filling it up with gas, arranging oil changes, and reporting any maintenance or safety issues immediately to the program director.
- Schedule and oversee commercial safety inspections.
- Communicate effectively with parents, caregivers, and team members.
- Maintain a clean and organized space for children.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training.
- Support children's emotional, social, and physical development.
- Provide a safe and engaging learning environment.
Qualifications:
- Child Development Assistant certification (or higher) recognized in Alberta.
- Class 4 Commercial License
- Current Childcare First Aid certification.
- Clean driver’s abstract.
- Criminal record check.
- Experience working with children in a daycare, preschool, or similar setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Must be able to independently supervise children.

Pay: $18.00-$29.60 per hour
