Position: Journeyman/Woman Carpenter - Finish work (or 3rd & 4th Period Apprentices)
Salary: $33 - 37/hr
Location: Acheson AB
Permanent Full Time Position with Overtime available
Seeking experienced Journeyman or 3rd/4th period apprentices to do finishing work on commercial trailer units (Installing cabinetry, trim, hanging doors, as well as some work doing minor drywall finishing and metal stud framing. Units are a variety of kitchen, living, and various use trailers for camp lodging . Candidates should have at least 6+ months of Carpentry or related experience .
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Follow scope of work unless direct otherwise by the Foreman/Lead hand
* Installation cabinets, doors, trim/baseboards/casing, shelving and other finishes
* Finishing drywall, and installing steel stud framing
* Working closely with other trades and assisting other trades when required
* Ensure all safety codes are followed and proper safety attire is always worn.
* Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
* Journeyman/Woman, or 3rd & 4th Period apprentices
* 2+ Years of finishing Carpentry
* General construction safety knowledge
* Committed dedication to safety; reflected in practice and experience
* Strong focus on customer satisfaction
* Strong attention to detail
* Ability to work independently in a demanding environment
* A team player with strong people skills
* Standard First Aid an asset
Physical Requirements
* Stand or walk for long periods of time
* Ability to stand, crouch, and kneel for long periods of time
* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
* Climbing stairs/ladders regularly
* Exposure to hazards such as heights, power tools, slips, falls, falling objects, and sharp hand tools
