Seasonal Contract
$17.60 - $23.40 per hour (Depending education and experience)
Position Overview:
The Camp Attendant is responsible for supporting the safe, compliant, and efficient seasonal operation of Hilly Acres Camp & Trailer Park and Rainbow Lodge by providing guest services, housekeeping, retail/front desk support, marine fuel sales, groundskeeping, and general site upkeep. This role is critical in maintaining operational standards, supporting positive guest experiences, and assisting with daily camp, lodge, and marina operations within the Economic Development portfolio, aligned with the values of Whitefish River First Nation. The successful candidate will have strong customer service skills, a dependable work ethic, and the ability to work in a fast-paced seasonal environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support daily operations at both sites, including housekeeping, front desk, retail, marina, and general guest service functions.
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness, readiness, and presentation of accommodations, common areas, washrooms, outdoor spaces, marina areas, and guest-use facilities.
- Provide friendly, professional support to guests by answering questions and assisting with camp, lodge, marina, retail, and general site inquiries.
- Assist with retail, concessions, rentals, and marine fuel transactions using Square POS as assigned.
- Support accurate cash handling, daily cash-out procedures, and basic reconciliation tasks under direction of the Camp Operations Supervisor.
- Follow all workplace policies and procedures related to health and safety, emergency response, marina and water safety, fuel handling, cleaning procedures, and equipment operation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent considered an asset.
- Experience in hospitality, tourism, campground operations, housekeeping, retail, marina services, grounds maintenance, or similar work environments considered an asset.
- Strong customer service skills and a friendly, professional demeanor.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse staff and guests, follow direction, and manage multiple priorities in a seasonal work environment.
- Experience with Square POS and cash handling considered an asset.
- Ability to safely operate or learn to operate light yard maintenance equipment.
- First Aid/CPR Certification is considered an asset.
- Experience working with First Nations communities and knowledge of Anishinaabemowin considered an asset.
Work Hours:
27.5 hours/week – Variable schedule 8:30 AM – 8:30 PM, Monday to Sunday. This position supports a 7-day/week seasonal operation. The schedule may vary based on occupancy, operational needs, and seasonal demand.
