About the role
Solstice Law is a boutique firm focused on crypto tax - one of the few practices in Canada doing this work seriously. We're small, which means you'll see whole files instead of fragments of them, and you'll learn an area of law that most legal assistants never touch.
We're looking for someone organized, careful, and comfortable in a practice that's still being built.
What you'll do
- Draft, proofread, and format correspondence, memos, and client documents
- Maintain client files and keep our document management system current
- Track deadlines and manage calendars across active matters
- Prepare and file documents electronically and in hard copy
- Handle client intake calls and inquiries professionally and discreetly
- Assist with basic legal research under lawyer supervision
- Support billing, engagement letters, and general firm administration
What you need
- 3+ years supporting lawyers or in a professional services environment (a strong legal administration graduate will be considered)
- Excellent written English and genuine attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to hold multiple deadlines without being chased
- Discretion with confidential financial and client information
- Experience with practice management software like LEAP and Clio
- Experience with Quickbooks
- Comfort with Microsoft Office and learning new software quickly
- Any exposure to tax, accounting, or crypto
What we offer
- $40,000–$60,000 depending on experience
- Hands-on exposure to a specialized and growing area of tax law
- Direct work with the principal — no layers between you and the file
- Primarily Remote with occasional in-person meetings
- Benefits to be discussed
- Paid Time Off
