Production Machine Operator - Start ASAP!
On-site in Milton, ON (L9T 0J8). Hiring now — interviewing this week and next.
Our client is a well-established manufacturer of industrial metal packaging products, supplying the paint, coatings, and chemicals industries across North America.
Pay: $20.00–$23.00/hour, based on experience
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM
Breaks: 20-minute paid break + 40-minute unpaid lunch
Type: Full-time, with a direct path to permanent hire
Reports to: Production Manager
The role
You'll run the production line equipment and keep it running well, forming, seaming, and press/stamping stations. This is a machine you get to know: when it's drifting, when it needs an adjustment, when something's about to go wrong. You work closely with the Production Manager and the Shift Lead.
If you've spent a few years around industrial equipment and you're the person who figures out why a machine is acting up instead of just calling someone, you'll do well here.
What you will do
- Operate production line equipment (forming, seaming, and press/stamping stations) and ensure specified requirements are met
- Assist in troubleshooting equipment issues
- Inspect and test product quality on the line
- Assist with machine adjustments and perform calibration checks
- Understand and follow procedures, instructions, and reports
- Complete and maintain accurate production and machine performance reports
- Monitor and report rejected product to Quality Control
- Communicate machine problems or production challenges to the Shift Lead and Production Manager
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Follow all safety regulations and company safety policies
- Notify your supervisor when stepping off the line to maintain safety and quality standards
What you bring
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with industrial equipment
- Secondary school diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency with hand tools
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
- Fluent English (reading, writing, communication) preferred
- Legally authorized to work full time in Canada
On the experience: we're flexible about where you got it. Machine operation, forklift and powered industrial equipment, packaging lines, press and stamping, general production machinery, it all counts, as long as you've worked hands-on with industrial equipment in a plant environment and you're comfortable troubleshooting when something isn't running right. No experience with can-forming equipment needed; we'll train you on our line.
What you get
- $20.00–$23.00/hour depending on experience
- Direct hire with the company after your 500-hour probationary period (approximately 3–4 months), including health benefits
- Monday to Friday days
- Paid break, on-site parking
- Steady work with a long-established manufacturer
- A team that trains you properly on the equipment
