What You'll Do as a Front of House Supervisor:
- Lead & Inspire the Team: Supervise a team of servers, hosts, and bartenders, fostering a positive, high-energy, and guest-focused work environment.
- Orchestrate an Exceptional Guest Experience: Oversee daily FOH operations, ensuring adherence to East Side Mario’s renowned steps of service, managing guest flow, and proactively resolving any guest concerns with a smile.
- Drive Service Excellence: Conduct pre-shift briefings, communicate targets and promotions, and provide ongoing coaching to team members on menu knowledge, upselling techniques, and service standards.
Operational Management: Assist the General Manager with key operational duties, including:
- Managing staff Schedules to Ensure optimal coverage and control labour costs.
- Overseeing FOH inventory (e.g., supplies, disposables) and assisting with ordering.
- Ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and responsible alcohol service regulations.
- Handling cash floats, server cash-outs, and end-of-shift reconciliation.
Performance Monitoring: Assist in tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) related to guest satisfaction, service times, and promotional success, reporting insights to the General Manager.
Team Development & Relations: Play a key role in training new team members, providing constructive feedback, and contributing to a culture of recognition and respect.
What We're Looking For:
- Minimum 1-2 years of supervisory or team lead experience in a high-volume, fast-paced casual dining restaurant.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team.
- Strong understanding of front-of-house operations, including service standards, guest relations, and staff scheduling.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills – you remain calm and effective under pressure.
- A whiz at organization and an eye for detail.
- Experience with Point of Sale (POS) systems and familiarity with inventory/cost control basics (e.g., managing FOH supplies, understanding labor cost implications).
- Smart Serve certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Post-secondary education in Hospitality or a related field is a plus!
- A genuine passion for the restaurant industry and creating memorable guest experiences.
