This is a M-F Hybrid position.
As an Equipment Designer you will be instrumental in designing 3D models that will be used for construction packages, ensuring efficient and effective manufacturing processes. You will produce detailed drawings and specifications that guide the production team in creating high-quality products. Working closely with engineers and production staff, you'll contribute to optimizing processes for manufacturability and cost-effectiveness, enhancing overall product quality.
How you will do it
Create detailed designs for manufacturing air handling units and computer room solutions, ensuring compliance with production requirements and industry standards.
Generate precise technical drawings and specifications for tooling using Inventor/Creo software.
Collaborate with engineers, production teams, and stakeholders to identify design needs and gather feedback on functionality.
Assist in the prototyping process by working with manufacturing teams to test and refine assemblies before full-scale production.
Review existing designs for efficiency and effectiveness, suggesting improvements to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
Maintain thorough documentation of design processes, revisions, and specifications to ensure traceability and adherence to JCI standards.
Create or update bills of materials (BOM) to accurately represent necessary components and materials.
Assist team members and perform peer reviews for internal design packages.
Engage in continuous improvement initiatives by assessing tooling performance and recommending innovative design enhancements.
Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, meeting timeline requirements while ensuring high-quality deliverables.
What we look for
College diploma or University degree in mechanical engineering design and drafting technology, or a related field.
Experience with CAD software including GD&T and standardized drafting practices.
Experience with Inventor and CREO/Windchill considered an asset.
Maintain drawing accuracy through version control, documentation updates, and adherence to drafting standards ASME Y14.
Ability to develop accurate manufacturing specifications in a timely manner.
Proficiency in creating preliminary designs or conceptualizing design.
Experience supporting mechanical products and assemblies in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent planning and organizational skills.
