Entry level position in the Drilling Industry (primarily water well, geotechnical, and environmental drilling). Candidates require drivers license and air brakes endorsement (or signed up for air brakes endorsement course - takes a single weekend to complete). Class 3 drivers license is a valuable asset for this position.
Work involves physical outdoor work in all weather. On the job training for equipment operation. Mechanical aptitude is an asset. Lots of OT. Most of the work is in the southern Vancouver Island area, however there is a fair bit of out of town work (Nothern Vancouver Island, gulf islands, and throughout BC).
Work includes skid steer operation, folding boom crane operation, driving commercial vehicles (onsite training provided for all these things) as well as heavy lifting, using hand tools, etc.
Hourly wages increase with experience and new training (provided on the job).
While there is some out of town work, most work will be based from Duncan area, so candidates must live commuting distance from the main Yard in Duncan
