Our client is a not‑for‑profit organization operating within the unionized construction sector, responsible for administering pension, health & welfare, and supplementary unemployment benefit (SUB) plans for its members. The organization works closely with employers, union representatives, and third‑party providers to ensure accurate contributions, compliance with collective agreements, and a strong member experience. This role is ideal for a hands‑on benefits detail oriented whose primary focus is benefits administration, processing, and member support.
Key Responsibilities Member & Benefits Services Respond to member inquiries related to health & welfare benefits, pension coverage, and eligibility Process benefit enrollments, terminations, reinstatements, and eligibility updates Support administration of leave of absence, disability (STD/LTD), and return‑to‑work cases Prepare and distribute member communications, letters, and benefit documentation Liaise with insurance carriers and third‑party administrators regarding claims and file updates Employer Contributions & Processing Process and review employer remittances and benefit contributions Reconcile reported contributions, variances, and discrepancies Perform high‑volume data entry and batch processing with a high level of accuracy Assist with employer onboarding, account maintenance, and ongoing inquiries Reporting & Administration Support month‑end processes, reporting, and statement generation Process benefit and supplementary benefit payments Maintain accurate records across benefits administration systems and Excel reports Collaborate with internal operations and finance teams to ensure data integrity •Qualifications Experience 3–5+ years of experience in benefits administration, pension administration, or member services Experience in union, multi‑employer, benefit fund, or TPA environments is a strong asset Background in high‑volume processing, reconciliation, and service delivery Skills Strong understanding of group benefits, pension plans, and disability programs Excellent customer service and communication skills (phone and email) High attention to detail and comfort working with transactional workloads Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Experience with benefits or HRIS systems preferred Exposure to AP/AR or financial reconciliation is an asset
