We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Accounts Receivable & Payable Specialist with at least 7 years of hands‑on experience. This role is heavily focused on accounts receivable and customer collections, which is critical to the organization’s cash flow.
The ideal candidate understands the realities of manufacturing and distribution—PO‑based invoicing, pricing discrepancies, freight charges, partial shipments, and customer deductions—and is comfortable working cross‑functionally with sales, operations, and shipping to resolve issues quickly and accurately.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Accounts Receivable & Collections
- Manage full‑cycle accounts receivable, including invoicing, cash application, aging, and reconciliations
- Take full ownership of customer collections, with consistent and proactive follow‑ups on past‑due accounts
- Work directly with customers to resolve payment delays related to pricing disputes, deductions, freight charges, short shipments, or PO discrepancies
- Monitor customer payment terms, credit limits, and aging balances
- Maintain clear documentation of collection efforts and escalate risk accounts when necessary
- Coordinate with sales and operations to resolve billing issues while holding firm on payment expectations
Accounts Payable
- Process high volumes of vendor invoices related to materials, freight, utilities, and services
- Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documents
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies with vendors and internal teams
- Prepare and support timely AP payment runs while maintaining proper controls
General Accounting, Reporting & Systems
- Maintain accurate AR and AP sub‑ledgers and aging reports
- Reconcile customer and vendor accounts
- Assist with month‑end close activities related to AR/AP
- Work efficiently within ERP systems, accounting software, and Excel
- Understand and navigate system workflows common in manufacturing and distribution environments
- Identify opportunities to improve AR/AP processes, efficiency, and controls
POSITION REQUIRMENTS:
- Minimum 7 years of experience in Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
- Prior experience in manufacturing or distribution strongly preferred
- Proven strength in customer collections is essential
- Strong understanding of PO‑based invoicing and operational billing issues
- High attention to detail with strong organizational and time‑management skills
- Confident, professional communication style when dealing with customers and vendors
- Strong systems aptitude and comfort working in ERP/accounting software
- Solid Excel skills
