POSITION: Payroll Clerk LOCATION: Hensall
Hensall Co-op is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented individual to become an integral member of our Human Resources/Payroll team. This is a full-time, contract position which will be in place from approximately mid- August 2026 – March 2028.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process bi-weekly payroll for approximately 350 hourly employees using ADP Workforce Now
- Review completed timecards and follow up with Managers/Supervisors as necessary
- Audit payroll data for accuracy and resolve discrepancies prior to payroll submission
- Respond to employee and manager payroll inquiries in professional and timely manner
- Process new hires, terminations, transfers, promotions, wage adjustments, etc. as applicable
- Prepare family support cheques and other garnishments for submission
- Prepare and issue records of employment, T4’s and other government documentation
- Prepare reports and summaries such as accumulated hours, WSIB, vacation accruals, etc.
- Prepare month end reporting and reconciliation
- Generate payroll and labour reports for management as required
- All other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and customer service skills
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Understanding of basic accounting and payroll principles
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines
- Experience with ADP is considered an asset
Required Qualifications:
- Post-Secondary education in Payroll, Accounting, Business Administration or another related program preferred
- Minimum 1 year of prior payroll processing experience
