Nova Industrial has been locally owned and operated in Nova Scotia since 1971. We are a proudly locally owned and operated business with three locations across Nova Scotia: Yarmouth, Bridgewater, and our Head Office in New Minas.
We’re the only locally owned industrial gas distributor in Southwest Nova Scotia, serving a wide range of industries including marine, agriculture, construction, manufacturing, and automotive refinishing. About the Role
We’re looking for a motivated, dependable person to be a core part of our Yarmouth team. The majority of your day is at the counter and on the phone — helping customers find what they need and processing orders. You’ll also make routine cylinder deliveries by half-ton truck, assist with propane cylinder filling, and serve as backup operator for our propane and cylinder delivery truck when needed. If you like staying busy, working with your hands, and dealing with contractors and tradespeople, this role will suit you well.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Assist walk-in and phone customers with product selection and order processing
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships
- Pull, pack, and prepare orders for delivery or pickup
- Make routine cylinder deliveries using a company half-ton truck
- Serve as backup operator for our propane and industrial gas delivery truck
- Fill and inspect propane cylinders following TDG and safety requirements
- Safely handle and transport industrial gas cylinders (oxygen, acetylene, and others)
- Maintain accurate delivery records and TDG paperwork
- Keep the counter, warehouse, and vehicle clean and organized
- Stay current on product knowledge across our industrial supply lines
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in inside sales, counter sales, or a customer-facing role — industrial, construction, or trades supply is a strong asset
- Valid Nova Scotia driver’s licence with a clean abstract (Class 5 minimum)
- Comfortable operating a half-ton truck and, as backup, a larger delivery vehicle
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Physically capable of regularly handling and moving heavy industrial cylinders (oxygen, acetylene) — this is a genuine requirement of the role
- Reliable, punctual, and a team player
