Skilled Commercial Construction Labourer (Traveling)

We are a commercial general contracting company specializing in restaurant renovations, tenant improvements, and ground-up restaurant construction projects across Ontario. Our team delivers high-quality projects for national and regional restaurant brands, working in active commercial environments and on accelerated construction schedules.
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Construction Labourer with 3–6 years of experience in commercial construction who is willing to travel extensively and stay near project sites throughout Ontario.
Position Summary
The Skilled Construction Labourer will support site supervisors and tradespeople in all phases of commercial construction, renovation, and fit-out projects. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in multiple construction disciplines and can work independently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship and safety.
Responsibilities
- Perform demolition, site preparation, and general labour duties.
- Install steel stud framing and drywall systems.
- Complete drywall boarding, taping preparation, and repairs as required.
- Install suspended/T-bar ceiling systems.
- Assist with ceramic, porcelain, and other tile installations.
- Perform basic carpentry, blocking, backing, and finishing work.
- Assist with material deliveries, unloading, and site organization.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Maintain a clean and organized job site.
- Follow project schedules and coordinate with site supervisors and subcontractors.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and Ontario health and safety regulations.
- Travel to project sites throughout Ontario and stay away from home as required.
Qualifications
Required
- 3–6 years of experience in commercial or institutional construction.
- Experience with:
- Drywall installation
- Steel stud framing
- T-bar/suspended ceiling systems
- Demolition
- Tile installation
- General construction and renovation work
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and site instructions.
- Strong understanding of construction safety practices.
- Valid Ontario driver's licence with a clean driving record.
- Ability to travel extensively throughout Ontario.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs (23 kg) and perform physically demanding work.
- Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated.
Preferred
- Experience working on restaurant or retail fit-out projects.
- Experience operating construction equipment and lifts.

Schedule
- Full-time
- Monday to Friday (occasional evenings and weekends as required by project schedules)
- Frequent travel throughout Ontario
- Overnight stays required
