Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper/Office Administrator to join our team. This role is vital in maintaining smooth office operations, managing financial records, and providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills, proficiency in bookkeeping software such as Sage 50, and experience working in an office environment.
Bookkeeping tasks include (but are not limited to):
- Accounts Payable
- Accounts Receivable
- journal entries
- bank reconciliations
- bank deposits
- keeping track of income/expenses with respect to various projects
- creating spreadsheets with respect to progress billing (using Excel)
- creating Statutory Declarations
- payroll (includes time allocation, processing payroll cheques, etc.)
- Record of Employment
- government remittances (source deductions, corporate taxes, HST, etc.)
- coordinating with accountant with respect to year-end filings (T4's T5018's, corporate taxes, etc.)
- backing up accounting software
- updating accounting software as required
- organizing yearly document shredding
Office Administration duties include (but are not limited to):
- typing of general correspondence
- creating electrical panel directories
- ordering/purchasing supplies as needed
- receiving and signing for product orders
- maintaining organized document files
- maintaining minutes books
Qualifications
- At least 2-3 years of bookkeeping experience
- Experience in office administration or clerical roles with strong organizational skills
- Proficiency in Sage 50, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) are a must
- Experience with bookkeeping, financial record management and generally accepted accounting practices (GAAP)
- Excellent customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and front desk experience
- Ability to multi-task
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy in proofreading and data management
- Prior experience in the commercial construction industry is a definite asset
- Must be able to prioritize tasks effectively
- Must be able to work with little to no supervision
- Common sense and the ability to take initiative are crucial
- Must be able to work with confidential material/matters in a professional and discreet manner
- Some IT knowledge is beneficial in order to troubleshoot computer issues that may arise from time to time.

Pay: $24.00-$27.00 per hour
