The Opportunity:
As a Payroll & Benefits Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing the payroll and benefits administration of multiple offices across BC & Manitoba. This position will be based out of Head office (Vancouver) and you will report to the Payroll Manager.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of payroll practices and experience working in a fast-paced environments. You will also bring excellent communication skills, superior organization skills strong organizational abilities, and meticulous attention to detail. Intermediate keyboarding and MS Office Suite skills are required.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Collaborate with HR to ensure policy compliance and communicate employee updates;
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding payroll and benefits inquiries;
- Process semi-monthly payroll for hourly, salaried, and commission-based employees;
- Process monthly attendance records and administer time and attendance system;
- Prepare and issue Record of Employment (ROEs);
- Assist with year-end procedures and WCB filings;
- Support the accounting team with T4/T4A reconciliation;
- Administer full cycle benefits enrollment, changes, and termination for employees and their eligible dependents.
- Liaise with external vendors to resolve benefits-related issues and discrepancies;
- Manage personnel files & payroll document control;
- Stay current on changes in payroll legislation and industry trends;
- Participate in team projects and administrative tasks as required.
What we’re looking for:
- PCP designation considered an asset;
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now considered an asset;
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel (especially pivot tables);
- Knowledge of payroll-related legislation (i.e. Employment Standards Act);
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Ability to interact professionally with all levels in the organization;
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment;
- Excellent keyboarding skills, efficiency, and accuracy;
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills;
- Ability to adapt quickly to change while maintaining consistency;
- Positive attitude and passion for payroll and benefits.
