This is a temporary contract position.
This position is effective September 8, 2026, and will continue until June 25, 2027 or until the return of the incumbent whichever comes first.
While all applicants will be considered, preference will be given to qualified applicants who self-declare Indigenous ancestry.
The starting annual salary for a school teacher position ranges from $60,000 to $110,000, with placement on the range based on the length of service and qualifications in accordance in accordance with the collective agreement. Positions of Special Responsibility receive an additional pay allowance in accordance with the collective agreement based on the levels 1, 2, or 3.

- BC Teaching Certificate
membership in the Teacher Regulation Branch and eligibility for Teacher
Qualification Service card.

knowledge of the subject area, including Big Ideas, curricular
competencies, content and appropriate resources

appreciation of the importance of First Nations Language & culture
- knowledge of current
instructional practices and the ability to adapt curriculum, programs and
instruction to meet the diverse needs of students
- demonstrated ability to
support students, consult with parents and work collaboratively
- ability to integrate
use of technology to support instruction, web-based reporting and
communicating with the school community
- interest in
contributing to the professional community at the school
- knowledge and
experience with assessment for learning in curricular areas and the
ability to use assessment tools to guide and develop instruction (eg PM
Benchmarks, Island Net Math, Primary Screener, WCRA, FSIM, Performance
Standards in Writing, Developmental Spelling Inventory)
- Demonstrate current
understanding of culturally responsive learning environment and assessment
practices
