Raise is currently hiring an AI Development Engineer on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client, the third largest producer of Canadian oil and natural gas and the second largest refiner and upgrader with extensive midstream and downstream infrastructure.
Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.
Description
This is an opportunity to directly shape the future of AI at our Client . In this role, you won't be stuck in a distant tech backlog; you will operate close to the business, owning high-impact work end-to-end—from initial concept to full production.

Responsibilities

Build AI-Native Products: Design and deliver full-stack, production systems where generative AI, analytics, and automation are embedded into daily business workflows.

Own End-to-End Solutions: Take ideas from problem definition through design, development, deployment, and continuous improvement.

Translate Business into Systems: Work directly with domain experts and leaders to turn operational challenges into scalable software.

Develop Agentic Systems: Combine AI agents with traditional components (APIs, pipelines, databases, AI models) to create reliable, auditable systems.

Build AI-Ready Infrastructure: Design semantic and context layers, knowledge stores, tool APIs, and data representations that make AI systems robust and trustworthy.

Deploy & Adapt Models: Integrate foundation models, optimize instructions, automate contexts, and evolve solutions as models improve.
Lead Through Practice: Mentor peers and partners, shape development standards, and raise the organization’s AI maturity through hands-on leadership.

Qualifications

8+ years of professional software engineering experience

A strong foundation in system design and architecture

Proven experience working with business stakeholders

Education and Certifications

A degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
