Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our culinary team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen by preparing high-quality meals and maintaining food safety standards. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking and a commitment to delivering excellent food service in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Duties
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and measuring spices.
- Follow recipes and presentation specifications to ensure consistency in meal preparation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including workstations and storage areas.
- Adhere to food safety protocols, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.
- Assist in the cooking process by operating kitchen equipment such as grills, fryers, and ovens.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service during peak hours.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and notify management when supplies need replenishing.
Experience
- Previous experience in food preparation or cooking within the food industry is preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for food handling.
- Familiarity with various cooking techniques and kitchen equipment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a busy environment.
- A team player who can work collaboratively with others in the kitchen.
- Passion for culinary arts and willingness to learn new skills.
