Gobind Sarvar Brampton is currently seeking a skilled and experienced French teacher to teach junior/intermediate grades as well as students in grade 9. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of the Ontario French curriculum and a commitment to student achievement and developing students' reading, writing and oral communication skills.
Requirements:
- Teaching experience is mandatory; applications without prior teaching experience will not be considered.
- Experience teaching French in a junior/intermediate/secondary setting is strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of the Ontario French curriculum, including strategies to support reading comprehension, written expression, oral communication, and media literacy.
- Must be able to plan and deliver engaging, inquiry-based lessons that meet a range of learning needs and promote critical thinking.
- Strong ability to implement assessment for, as, and of learning, and to track and report on student progress using various tools and strategies.
- Must be fluent in English and French with excellent oral, written, and reading communication skills.
- OCT certification is recommended; candidates who have applied for OCT will also be considered.
- Strong classroom management, organization, and the ability to foster a respectful, inclusive, and academically focused environment.
- Willingness to collaborate with colleagues, engage families, and contribute to school-wide literacy goals and events.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of young learners.
- Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages communication and collaboration among students.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support as needed.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student development and classroom activities.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching strategies and share best practices.
- Utilize technology and educational resources to support learning objectives.
