Role
As a heavy duty mechanic (or commercial transport mechanic), you will work closely with our other experienced mechanics to ensure that our large fleet of dump trucks, excavators, graders, loaders and other equipment is fully operational and well maintained.
This is a skilled position that primarily involves repair and maintenance of our large fleet of trucks and equipment. We are looking for someone with strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
Responsibilities
- Perform inspection, diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
- Assist drivers with day-to-day checks and maintenance.
- Perform service calls for emergency breakdowns.
- Disassemble and reassemble components such as engines, transmissions, cooling systems, fuel & exhaust systems, brakes, clutches, differentials, hydraulics, electrical systems and lubricating systems.
Requirements
- Journeyman’s certificate (preferred) (Other applicants will be considered)
- Valid Driver’s License
- Analytical problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Team player
- Safety-conscious
