Job Summary
Lunenburg Foundry - Division of Seaway Fabrications Ltd. has been an industry leader in the production of quality marine hardware for over 130 years and we are looking to add a member to our team. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machinist to join our manufacturing team at our new location in Whynott's Settlement just outside of Bridgewater. The position involves machining brass and bronze castings that are produced from our foundry along with machining stainless steel shafts and other various items. The machinist will play a critical part in ensuring the quality and efficiency of our production process.
Duties
- Operate manual machines such as lathes, milling machines, drill press and grinders
- Perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, and other hand tools to ensure specifications are met.
- Adjust machine parameters and troubleshoot issues to maintain optimal operation.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and proper tool handling.
- Conduct routine maintenance on machinery and assist in tooling changes as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years experience as a Machinist with solid mechanical knowledge
- Strong understanding of machining processes, basic math skills for measurements, and use of calipers.
- Knowledge of manufacturing standards, lean manufacturing principles, and safety procedures.
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, forklift operation, and assembly is a plus.
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
