We are seeking skilled and detail-orientated Product Technical Engineer to join our team.
Major Duties & Job Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary point of contact for all technical inquiries from Sales and Customer Service teams.
- Train and oversee personnel to provide backup support for current templating responsibilities.
- Ensure effective training and development of both new and existing employees.
Plant Technical Support
- Standardize manufacturing drawings to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Manage product updates and engineering changes.
- Provide training to shop floor staff on product updates and process changes.
- Ensure all incoming and internally produced products comply with approved drawings, including outsourced components.
- Collaborate with the Engineering Manager, Automation Lead, and Maintenance team on new products, tooling, and fixture requirements.
- Develop and implement quality control procedures.
Special Projects
- Support Manufacturing Engineering initiatives.
- Participate in new product development and testing.
- Assist with the implementation of new machinery.
- Manage and maintain compliance documentation (FIRE, FBC, NOA).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to create and manage spreadsheets, reports, memos, and other documentation.
- High level of accuracy when processing and entering information.

Required Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent
- CAD experience
- Manufacturing Experience is an asset
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform pre-shift inspection and record results.
- Perform proper machine cleaning procedures at the end of shift.
- Review orders and drawings to determine requirements.
- Determine proper door skins.
- Lay-out and weld ‘stiffeners’ on ‘top and bottoms’ as required.
- Insulate between ‘stiffeners.
- Assemble ‘top and bottoms’ together.
- Weld ‘top and bottom’ channels.
- Send door to seam welder and weld together, as required.
- Inspect door for flatness.
- Cut out Thermal Kits, Glazing Track, Glass Stop.
- Punch and Dimple Glass stop.
- Install kits as required.
- Produce order quantity as required.
- Inspect all finished doors for flatness and surface quality.
- Skid and label all products produced.
- Assist with paint line department as needed.
- Spot weld locks, hinges, and end channels
- Add required insulation.
- Lay-out, weld or glue stiffeners on tops and bottoms as required.
- Assemble tops and bottoms together.
- Inspect door for flatness and surface quality.
- Skid and label all products produced.
- Cut end channels when required.
- Check weld quality on locks, hinges, and end channels.
- Check for skin alignment.

- Astragals and flat Bars
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
- Intermediate knowledge of computer(s).
- Ability to adapt and adjust to various assignments.
Physical Capabilities
- Mechanical dexterity with good hand eye coordination
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to lift up to 55lbs maximum repetitively throughout a shift.
Essential Skills
- Ability to read, write, understand and communicate effectively in English.
- Working knowledge of mechanical equipment (i.e. mechanically inclined).
- Ability to perform basic mathematical functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).
- Ability to accurately read measuring instruments, such as a measuring tape in imperial units.
- Knowledge and ability to set up machinery as required.
- Ability to read production orders and drawings.
- Problem solving skills.
Pay: $60,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
