Job Title: Part-Time Licensed Pharmacist
Location: Sunridge, Ontario
Reports To: Pharmacy Manager / Owner
Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated, licensed pharmacist to join our pharmacy team on a part-time basis (e.g., 10-25 hours/week) in our Sunridge location. The successful candidate will provide professional pharmaceutical care, ensure safe and accurate dispensing of medications, counsel patients, and help maintain compliance with regulatory requirements in the province of Ontario.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispense prescription medications and ensure accuracy, appropriateness and completeness in accordance with regulatory and professional standards.
- Review prescriptions for drug interactions, contraindications, correct dosage and therapeutic appropriateness.
- Provide patient counselling on medications — usage, side-effects, interactions, storage, adherence.
- Offer advice to customers regarding over-the-counter (OTC) products and minor ailments within scope of practice.
- Maintain patient medication profiles and pharmacy records in accordance with privacy laws and professional guidelines.
- Manage inventory of pharmaceuticals and supplies: ordering, receiving, checking expiry dates, disposing of outdated or recalled stock.
- Support and collaborate with pharmacy staff (technicians, assistants) to ensure smooth workflow, good customer service, and high-quality care.
- Comply with all legislation and professional standards, including those of the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP).
- Participate in pharmacy programs (e.g., vaccinations/injections if certified, medication reviews, minor-ailment services) as required or as expanded scope permits.
- Maintain continuing professional development and stay updated on changes to relevant laws, drug therapies, and pharmacy practice.

Qualifications & Requirements
- A valid pharmacist licence in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
- Degree in Pharmacy (Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD) from an accredited institution.
- Previous experience in a community pharmacy (retail) setting preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills — comfortable counselling patients and working with pharmacy staff.
- Excellent attention to detail, and ability to follow professional, regulatory and company policies.
- Some familiarity with pharmacy software systems (e.g., Kroll, Fill-ware, etc.) is an asset.
- Certification to administer injections/vaccines is an asset (if your pharmacy offers vaccination services).
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt to part-time schedule including possible evenings/weekends (if needed).
