Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Large Animal Veterinarian to join our veterinary practice specializing in the care and treatment of large animals, including livestock and equine patients. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, a passion for animal health, and experience working with large animals in a fast-paced environment. Large animal on-call duties are a significant part of the job.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat a variety of large animal health issues, including medical, surgical, and preventive care.
- Drive to and treat animals on-farm
- Perform routine examinations, vaccinations, and health assessments for livestock and equine patients.
- Treat emergency cases and provide urgent care as needed.
- Conduct laboratory tests and interpret results to inform treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate medical records for all patients.
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure efficient clinic operations.
- Qualifications
- Valid restricted veterinary license to practice in Ontario, passed NAVLE
- Prior experience working with equine and bovine species essential
- Strong clinical skills with the ability to perform surgical procedures and diagnostic testing.
- Excellent communication skills for client education and team collaboration.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
- Compassionate attitude toward animals and their owners, with a commitment to providing high-quality care.
Pay: $86,957.16-$100,000.00 per year
