Duties
- Prepare and process meat products through skilled butchery techniques, ensuring precise cuts and presentation
- Handle food items with care, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout all stages of food preparation
- Package meat products efficiently for retail or wholesale, ensuring proper labeling and freshness preservation
- Follow all food safety protocols to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with health regulations
- Assist customers by providing knowledgeable service, answering questions about products, and offering recommendations
- Maintain organized workstations, stock supplies, and support inventory management efforts
- Support kitchen operations by assisting with other food preparation tasks as needed to ensure smooth workflow
Requirements
- Proven experience in the food industry, particularly in food preparation or kitchen environments
- Strong skills in butchery and meat cutting techniques (deboning) with attention to detail
- Knowledge of food handling procedures and strict adherence to food safety standards
- Ability to operate packaging equipment and maintain cleanliness in the workspace
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional attitude
- Previous kitchen experience is highly desirable to adapt quickly to the team’s workflow
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks efficiently
