Hero's Welcome is looking for a pizza maker and cook to join our team. We are a dynamic, community focused pub, music venue & event space in the heart of Main street serving up New York style pizza, sandwiches and other classic pub fare. We are a growing business with full & part time positions available within the pub setting and to service our takeout window, Banister Provisions and sister bar The American.
The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years pizza making experience, be respectful and organized with a positive attitude and willingness to take direction. An attention to detail must also be demonstrated in order to create a consistent product and uphold cleanliness standards. Ability to communicate effectively within the team is also expected to optimize workflow. Experience with baking and/or dough handling is definitely an asset.
- proper setup maintaining and break down of stations
- hand stretching and baking thin crust pizza
- assembling hero style sandwiches, appetizers and other bar snacks
- slicing various cheeses, meats and veggies
- preparing sauces, spreads, dips & other items from recipes
- portioning & scaling ingredients
- stock rotation
- daily cleaning, dishwashing, sanitizing & logging temperatures as per BC Foodsafe guidelines.
- Sourdough & pre-ferment maintenance
- Dough mixing & shaping
