Bluewater Adventures is a small, well-established adventure tour company operating two motor-sailing vessels along the British Columbia and Southeast Alaska coast from March to October celebrating 52 years in operation. We are currently seeking a full time, birth-related leave coverage for our Tour Operations & Crew Coordinator role with the anticipated contract start date September 2026 and continuing until early November 2027 (approximately 14 months).
The Tour Operations & Crew Coordinator role is based out of the Bluewater Adventures North Vancouver office with typical hours 9:00am – 5:00pm, 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday. Hybrid work may become available over time.
Job Description
Expedition Coordination
Responsible for ensuring the smooth coordination of trip logistics through excellent planning, documentation, budgeting, problem solving, and thorough communication. Liaise, review expectations and manage working with local suppliers, BC Parks, and First Nations in remote coastal areas.
Crewing & Scheduling
In collaboration with the Managing Director and General Manager, be responsible for the posting, interviewing, and hiring/contracting of seasonal, school program, and winter maintenance crew. Create and manage crew contracts and seasonal crewing schedules (winter maintenance, school program, and guest summer season) alongside required certifications and documentation. Responsible for all crew travel budgeting, planning, and booking and operational logistics throughout the season. Responsible for all crew coordination and communication throughout the calendar year.
Off Season Projects
Use the winter to innovate and follow through on projects that could improve efficiency and add value to the company.
Marketing Support
Support the provision of content for social media, newsletters, photographs, video support, and website blog posts as needed.
Skills Required
- Solid computer/technology skills: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and Google drive.
- Strong ability to communicate with professionalism and to build on long term relationships, as well as foster new ones with crew, partners, and suppliers.
- Able to adopt a clear communication and tracking approach - understand what crew and partners need, ensure crew and partners receive and understand the information, and the Bluewater Adventures office team are conversant on the status of crew planning and logistics.
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
- General office skills: organization, attention to detail, ability to prioritize work, documentation, work independently and as part of a team, and bookkeeping (reconciliation of invoices, crew contract payroll reconciliation).

What We Offer
Salary range between 50-60K per annum. After a three-month probationary period, the successful candidate has access to a Health & Wellness Spending Account covered 100% by Bluewater Adventures and the option to opt into the company benefits plan, paid for by the employee.Office staff can expect an end-of-year bonus in addition to their salary. This role comes with 10 business days' annual vacation. Typically (space pending), office staff have the option to join one of our seasonal trips to experience what Bluewater is all about.
