Hickman Automotive Group is looking for an Medium Duty Truck Technician to join our team at Hickman Truck Centre in St. John's. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Diagnostics and Repair: Utilize computerized diagnostic tools to troubleshoot and repair engines, drivetrains, brakes, suspension and electrical systems.
- Maintenance: Perform preventative maintenance services such as oil changes, fluid checks, and tune-ups.
- Warranty and Compliance: perform warranty repairs in accordance with factory standards and ensure vehicles meet safety and environmental regulations.
- Documentation: Accurately document all work performed on repair orders using dealer management software.
Qualifications
- Enrollment in Automotive Apprenticeship Program is considered an asset.
- Problem Solving and Analytical Thinking Skills: must be able to analyze symptoms to find the root cause of mechanical and electrical issues efficiently.
- Communication Skills: Explaining complex technical repairs and coordinating effectively with service advisors and parts personnel.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulousness in inspections and documentation to ensure safety and maintain accurate service records for warranty compliance.
- Adaptability and Active Learning: A commitment to continuous training to keep up with rapidly evolving truck technology and new manufacturer standards.
