Role Purpose
The Foam Fabrication Technician supports precast production by preparing, routing, assembling, and staging foam components used in forming and architectural applications. This role ensures foam materials are accurately prepared, safely handled, and delivered to production areas on time.
The position includes routing and connector installation as core duties, with cross-training in foam cutting and fabrication to support operational coverage as needed.
Core Responsibilities
Foam Preparation & Assembly
- Route foam components to required dimensions and profiles
- Install connectors, hardware, and embedded components into foam assemblies
- Stack, organize, and stage completed foam components for production
- Verify accuracy and quality of routed and assembled components
Material Handling & Transport
- Load and secure foam materials onto trailers
- Transport foam between plant locations or shops as required
- Maintain organization of foam inventory and storage areas
- Coordinate with production teams to ensure timely delivery
Fabrication Support
- Assist with foam cutting and shaping when required
- Support layout and preparation of custom foam components
- Cross-train in foam fabrication processes to provide operational coverage
Equipment & Tools
- Operate routing equipment and associated tools safely
- Operate forklifts or loaders as required (if certified)
- Perform basic maintenance and report equipment issues
Safety & Housekeeping
- Follow all plant safety procedures and PPE requirements
- Maintain a clean and organized foam shop area
- Participate in toolbox talks and safety meetings
- Report hazards or safety concerns promptly
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience in manufacturing, fabrication, construction, or related field preferred
- Ability to read and interpret basic drawings and measurements
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Ability to lift materials and stand for extended periods
- Basic math and measuring skills
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
