We are seeking an entry-level, Diamond Setter Level 1 for our Setting department. Setters are primarily responsible for assembling graphite molds and the preparation of diamond impregnated metal-bond drilling and grinding tools as well as (but not limited to) surface-set, TSP-set and PDC-set metal-bond drilling tools. This position is for the Day shift – 7:00am to 3:00 pm., Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities:
- Reading and interpreting written work instructions.
- Assemble and prepare grinding tools for furnace processing.
- Assemble graphite molds for bit (drilling) products.
- Fill, set, and prepare bit (drilling) products for furnace processing.
- Clean grinding tool molds.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualification:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 0-2 years’ experience in a production environment.
- Previous experience or ability in working with small parts (eg. assembly of electronic boards, sewing).
- Equivalent experience may be evaluated in lieu of above qualifications
Key competencies:
- Manual dexterity and exceptional hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to work meticulously performing repetitive tasks while sitting for long periods of time, and in close proximity to other employees.
- Ability to work with powdered metal materials and small hand tools.
- Ability to work with small hand tools.
- Knowledge and experience with weighing tools and measuring devices.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrated written and oral communication skills in the English language.
- Demonstrated mathematical skills.
Soft skills:
- Perform duties in an ethical and professional manner.
- Perform duties in a safe manner that is compliant with Workplace Safety and Health requirements, and in accordance with company Safe Work Procedures.
