Reid's Dairy Company Ltd. is a family-owned and operated business and we are currently celebrating our 116th year serving the Belleville and Quinte area. Reid's Dairy is currently accepting resumes for a full-time position as a Quality Assurance Technician.
The position could entail a combination of day, afternoon, overnight, and weekend shift schedule. Weekend shifts are mandatory for this position. Hours can change with adequate notice provided to the candidate in order to meet the needs of the business and production schedule.
Job description, duties and responsibilities required:
- Enforce QA program through communication with multiple departments throughout the facility;
- Problem solve & trouble-shoot product quality issues;
- Monitor staff and surroundings for good manufacturing practices (GMPs);
- Experience with implementation of record keeping - completion of FS/QA forms and related paperwork and related data entry;
- Completing microbiological, chemical, physical product testing and required documentation;
- Perform pre- and post-operational inspections on equipment and work areas;
- Reporting directly to the Quality Assurance Supervisor;
- Other duties as required by the Management team.
Education and Qualifications:
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in a related discipline such as Microbiology, Biotechnology, or Food Science.
- Minimum completion of a three (3) year program or equivalency.
Experience:
- 1-3 years of comprehensive Quality Assurance in a food manufacturing work environment is required.
- Knowledge and understanding of food safety regulations and best practices.
- Strong communication skills are required and are effectively conveyed (written, verbal, etc.).
- Previous experience regarding BRC and/or SQF is an asset.
- HACCP training from a recognized training provider is an asset.
- BRC certification is an asset.
