Shunt Truck Driver – On-Call Vacation & Call-In Coverage
We are currently hiring an On-call Shunt Truck Driver, based out of Ancaster, ON, providing vacation and call-in coverage as needed. This role is ideal for drivers who are flexible and available to work varying schedules. Current operating hours are 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM, with afternoon, evening, and occasional weekend shifts.
What we offer:
- Vacation and call-in coverage opportunity
- Based in Ancaster, ON
- Current operating hours: 8-12 hour shifts
- We also pay on Incorporation
- Base pay: $24.00/hour
- Additional shift premiums for afternoon shifts and weekend work
What you do:
- Safely move trailers within the yard and position them at dock doors
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Coordinate with dispatch and warehouse personnel for trailer movements
- Maintain accurate trailer movement records
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
What We're Looking For:
- Valid GZ, DZ, or AZ Licence with previous yard shunting experience
- Clean Driver Abstract and CVOR
- Ability to work flexible schedules on short notice
- Strong safety awareness and ability to work independently
- Clean criminal background check
