Position Summary
Exhibit Installation Services (EIS) is seeking a skilled Carpenter / Exhibit Builder to join our production team. This role is responsible for fabricating, assembling, finishing, and installing custom trade show exhibits, retail displays, corporate interiors, and experiential environments. The ideal candidate has strong carpentry and woodworking skills, experience interpreting technical drawings, and the ability to deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and assemble custom exhibits, displays, fixtures, cabinets, counters, shelving, and architectural elements.
- Read and interpret shop drawings, construction drawings, CAD layouts, and fabrication specifications.
- Operate woodworking equipment including table saws, panel saws, routers, sanders, drills, pneumatic tools, and other shop machinery.
- Perform laminating, finishing, trimming, hardware installation, and general millwork tasks.
- Assist with exhibit installations and dismantles at trade shows, conferences, corporate events, and client facilities.
- Prepare exhibits for shipping, including packing, crating, labeling, and inventory management.
- Troubleshoot fabrication and installation challenges while maintaining project timelines.
- Work with wood, laminates, aluminum, graphics, acrylics, fabrics, and other exhibit materials.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Ensure all work meets EIS quality standards and client expectations.
- Collaborate with project managers, designers, and production staff throughout project execution.
- Assist with warehouse organization, exhibit maintenance, and asset management as required.
Qualifications Required
- 3+ years of carpentry, exhibit fabrication, cabinetmaking, millwork, or related experience.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and woodworking equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and dimensions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding work.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and occasional travel when project schedules require.
Preferred
- Experience in trade show exhibits, retail displays, museum exhibits, scenic fabrication, or architectural millwork.
- Experience with CNC equipment and digital fabrication processes.
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.
- Experience with exhibit installation and dismantle (I&D).
- Knowledge of laminating, finishing, and custom fabrication techniques.
Pay: $28.00-$38.00 per hour
