This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented Purchasing Administrator who thrives in a fast-paced construction environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting day-to-day operations by issuing purchase orders, coordinating with vendors and suppliers, tracking material deliveries, and ensuring field crews receive the resources they need to keep projects moving.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create, issue, and maintain purchase orders for materials, equipment, rentals, and services
- Process purchase requests from Project Managers, Superintendents, field staff, and office personnel
- Obtain pricing, availability, lead times, and delivery information from vendors and suppliers
- Coordinate with suppliers to confirm orders and ensure timely delivery to job sites
- Follow up on outstanding purchase orders, backorders, and delayed shipments
- Receive purchase orders within the system and complete progress entries as required
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues relating to deliveries, shortages, damaged materials, and vendor discrepancies
- Match and maintain supporting documentation including purchase requests, packing slips, invoices, and purchase orders
- Maintain organized and accurate purchasing records for reporting and audit purposes
- Create and maintain vendor and supplier databases and contact information
- Communicate order status and delivery updates to field and office teams
- Assist with inventory coordination and material tracking across projects and divisions
- Work closely with the accounting and operations teams to ensure purchasing documentation is complete and accurate
- Provide general administrative support to the purchasing and operations departments
- Perform other related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, administration, logistics, or a related role is preferred
- Experience in the construction, civil, infrastructure, utilities, or heavy equipment industry is considered a strong asset
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook
- Experience with ERP, purchasing, or construction management software such as Jonas is an asset
- Ability to work collaboratively with operations, accounting, and project teams in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of construction materials, vendors, and job site operations is considered an asset
Pay: From $55,000.00 per year
