JOB SUMMARY
We are currently looking for a passionate, dedicated and detail-orientated Food Runner/Busperson to join our Sheraton Fallsview team. The Busperson will approach our guests in an attentive, friendly and service-oriented manner and provide each guest with a dining experience that will be remembered long after their stay.
Tasks may include, but are not limited to:
- Warmly welcome our guests.
- Assist servers with guest orders and ensure delivery of high-quality service.
- Deliver food from the buffet kitchen to service stations in a timely and efficient manner.
- Ensure buffet stations remain fully stocked with fresh food by communicating with the kitchen and replenishing items as required.
- Monitor buffet presentation and assist in maintaining attractive, clean, and well-organized food displays.
- Safely transport hot and cold food while maintaining food quality and temperature standards.
- Communicate with kitchen and service teams regarding food shortages, replenishment needs, and guest requests.
- Clear and clean tables to ensure they are presentable and carry trays of dishes to the stewarding area.
- Restock cutlery, plates, condiments, beverages, and other dining supplies.
- Assist with the setup, maintenance, and breakdown of buffet stations before, during, and after service.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in all food and beverage outlets
- Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, health and safety regulations, and company standards to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
- Comply with Marriott brand standards, procedures, and Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
- All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Well organized with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume buffet environment.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house teams.
- Must be able to work well under pressure.
- Must be able to work day and evening shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills when dealing with guests and team members.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain professional composure while performing multiple tasks and providing exceptional guest service.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices is considered an asset.
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, including standing for extended periods, frequent walking, lifting and carrying trays, food pans and supplies (up to 20 lbs.), and pushing or pulling service carts.
- Ensure uniform and personal appearance is clean and professional.
