At TURBINE-X Energy, we’re not just building energy solutions we’re building a culture of excellence, kindness, and innovation. Headquartered in Houston, Texas, we serve legacy clients across North America in industrial, oil & gas, mining, data centers, peaker plants, microgrids, switchgear, BESS, and BOP sectors. We believe in creating a workplace where people feel empowered, supported, and inspired to do their best work and have fun doing it.
The Challenge
At TURBINE‑X Energy, quality isn’t a department’s our reputation. As a Quality Control (QC) Inspector, you’ll be on the shop floor and in the yard ensuring materials, components, sub‑assemblies, and finished equipment meet specifications the first time. You’ll perform receiving, in‑process, and final inspections; verify documentation and traceability; and partner with Production, Engineering, and Supply Chain to keep projects moving on time and right‑the‑first‑time. If you love precision, take pride in clean documentation, and know how to spot issues before they become delays then you’ll thrive here.
What You’ll Do
- Perform receiving inspections on raw materials and components (visual, dimensional, documentation/COC review, heat/lot traceability).
- Conduct in‑process and final inspections for mechanical, electrical, and controls assemblies per drawings, ITPs, and work instructions.
- Verify GD&T, tolerances, fits, and finishes using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, thread gauges, etc.
- Inspect fabrications and piping (fit‑up, weld size/profile, WPS/PQR/WPQR compliance), and witness NDE results where applicable.
- Support FATs (Factory Acceptance Tests) and customer/third‑party inspections; prepare test packs and sign‑off documentation.
- Create and maintain quality records: inspection reports, nonconformance reports (NCRs), deviation/concession requests, and re‑inspection sign‑offs.
- Work with Production/Engineering on MRB, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
- Ensure calibration control for measurement tools and verify status before use.
- Uphold EHS and housekeeping standards on the shop floor; stop work if conditions or product are out of spec.
- Drive continuous improvement—standardize checklists, tighten ITPs, and remove recurring defects.
What You Bring
- 3+ years of QC inspection experience in industrial manufacturing, energy, oil & gas, power equipment, or EPC fabrication.
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and specs (GD&T required).
- Hands‑on proficiency with precision measurement tools and visual inspection techniques.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 practices; familiarity with ASME, AWS D1.1/Section IX, API/IEC/NEC a plus.
- Experience with NDE coordination (MT/PT/UT/Radiography) and reviewing reports; Level II in MT/PT is a plus.
- Solid documentation skills—accurate, timely, and audit‑ready.
- Collaborative, calm under pressure, and comfortable in a fast‑paced, project schedule environment.
Nice‑to‑Have Certifications (not required):
- CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) or Visual Weld Inspector credentials
- ASQ certifications (CQI, CQT)
- NDT Level II (MT/PT)
- IPC/WHMA‑A‑620 or IPC‑A‑610 (for electrical harness/board inspection, if applicable)
