We are looking for an Accounting Manager to lead core financial operations for a transport organization based in Brampton , Ontario . This position will oversee reporting, controls, budgeting, and process improvement to support accurate financial management and timely decision-making. The successful candidate will bring strong leadership in accounting operations, a sharp eye for compliance, and the ability to strengthen procedures across the function.
Responsibilities :
- Lead the review and enhancement of accounting workflows, policies, and controls to improve accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with accepted accounting practices.
- Analyze financial information and prepare clear, reliable reports and statements that support informed business decisions.
- Manage the preparation and submission of consolidated financial reporting packages, ensuring all information is complete, accurate, and delivered on schedule.
- Direct the annual budgeting cycle and coordinate quarterly forecasting activities in partnership with internal stakeholders.
- Strengthen the organization’s financial protection framework by developing, implementing, and monitoring effective internal controls.
- Keep accounting practices aligned with applicable legislation and regulatory standards, and recommend updates to procedures when requirements change.
- Authorize outgoing disbursements on a daily basis and oversee weekly payment reviews to confirm proper approval and accuracy.
- Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation to ensure transactions are properly tracked and audit-ready.
