Line Trimmer & Ride-On Mower Operators – Lawn Care Jobs (Ottawa)
Green Works Contracting is hiring experienced Line Trimmer & Ride-On Mower Operators for the 2026 landscaping season.
Full-Time | $18–$20/hour / Ride-On Mower Experience preferred
Schedule & Locations:
- Meet up/yard locations in Kanata (shrub crews) and Orleans (trim crews).
- Full-time, seasonal position (End of April – November) with potential for year-round employment.
- Monday to Friday schedule, 8 hour shifts.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine lawn care services, including mowing, trimming, edging, and blowing.
- Conduct garden maintenance tasks such as weeding, planting, dividing, and pruning.
- Operate and maintain landscaping equipment (mowers, trimmers, blowers, etc.).
- Install landscape materials (soil, mulch, river stone, etc.).
- Ensure properties are clean, tidy, and aesthetically maintained.
- Apply fertilizers and other lawn care products safely and efficiently.
- Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe work environment.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in landscape maintenance or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Ability to operate landscaping equipment safely and effectively.
- Strong work ethic with attention to detail. Capable of working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Valid G-class driver’s license (preferred but not mandatory).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Skills:
- Proficient in landscape maintenance techniques with a strong understanding of gardening practices.
- Ability to build structures using basic construction skills.
- Experience with hand tools such as shovels, rakes, pruners, as well as power tools like lawnmowers line trimmer and hedge trimmers.
- Capability to dig, plant, irrigate, and maintain gardens effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship.
