About the Role
Open Space Counselling is a large counselling clinic with two locations and a team of 20+ therapists and interns. As our clinic grows, we're looking for a Marketing and Community Outreach Coordinator to help us build relationships with community partners and increase our visibility and prominence within the main communities we serve, both at the location level and the population level.
This is a part-time role well-suited to someone with a background in communications, marketing, psychology, and mental health. You'll work alongside the Clinic Manager and report primarily to the clinic owner.
Role at a Glance
Hours: 10-15 hours per week (flexible scheduling)
Location: Primarily remote, with occasional in-person presence at clinic locations and community events (Greater Vancouver Area)
Reports To: Clinic Owner (Elana), Clinic Manager (Victor)
Start Date: Flexible
Compensation: $25/hr
Responsibilities
Community Outreach and Referral Development
- Identify and research local referral opportunities — family physicians, health professionals, psychiatrists, schools, and community organizations
- Draft and send outreach emails, letters, and referral packages to prospective partners
- Phone or visit in person medical practices
- Track outreach activity and follow-ups
- Arrange and attend occasional community events or networking opportunities on behalf of the clinic
- Support the development of partnership relationships and maintain warm communication with existing referral sources
Social Media and Content Creation
- Manage and publish content across Instagram and other active social channels
- Draft and schedule weekly Google My Business updates
- Support the formatting and distribution of the monthly client newsletter
- Develop content ideas that reflect the clinic's voice: warm, grounded, and light
- Assist with graphic design of social assets using existing brand guidelines
Marketing Support
- Help maintain and update the clinic website with fresh content as needed
- Support SEO efforts through blog post review
- Assist in building and updating referral packages and clinic one-pagers for physicians and community partners
- Contribute ideas for campaigns or initiatives that expand the clinic's community presence
The ideal candidate…
- Has a bachelor’s degree or diploma/certificate in a related field (psychology, marketing, communications)
- Has a background in communications, marketing, psychology, or a related field, or is actively studying in one of these areas
- Writes clearly and warmly, with an instinct for authentic storytelling
- Is confident and comfortable making phone calls and in person visits
- Communicates proactively and follows through with minimal day-to-day oversight
- Is organized and self-directed, and is comfortable working remotely and in-person
- Is competent with the Google Workspace suite and email marketing platforms (Mailchimp)
- Is proficient on Canva
- Has experience with social media management and photo/video content creation
- Is curious about mental health and community care, and approaches the work with creativity, not inclined to well-worn cliches
- Knowledge of the Greater Vancouver mental health and community health landscape
- Previous experience EITHER in a healthcare, non-profit, or wellness setting OR in a marketing environment
Pay: $25.00 per hour
