Your Opportunity:
Reporting to the Manager for the Day Hospital program, the Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) works as a member of the multidisciplinary team within the Center for Child and Adolescent Mental Health, collaborating on the delivery of holistic, comprehensive care to meet the needs of individuals, families, and/or communities within the level of competency. The registered nurse provides leadership in nursing assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for the purpose of promoting, maintaining, or restoring health, and in preventing illness, injury, and disability. The registered nurse is guided by their level of education, expertise, experience, demonstrated skill level, and job description. The Day Hospital RN/RPN will provide daily assessment of patient mental status, suicide risk, physical health & health risks, social & family interactions, learning capabilities, education needs, and responses to treatment goals and care plans. The Day Hospital RN/RPN will utilize a strength-based, bio-psycho-social, and family centered approach to care. The RN/RPN will collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team to gather, validate, and expand on assessment data.

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of Recovery Alberta. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $40.76 - $55.79 per hour. Upon being entered into the register as a Registered Nurse, the rate of pay will be adjusted in accordance with the UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii), as applicable.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:
Recent experience in child & adolescent mental health.
Preferred Qualifications:
Mental Health Certification is preferred (CMHPN). Course-work in Child & Adolescent Mental Health is preferred. Brain Story Certification Preferred. Collaborative Problem Solving training preferred. Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team setting is preferred.
