Regulate flow of service work through department.
Create internal work orders
Schedule shop work as efficiently as possible in accordance with dealership policy.
Assign and remove work to and from mechanics/technicians.
Monitor repair orders as they flow to and from the tower and mechanics/technicians.
Verify hard copies turned in by mechanics/technicians to ensure repair orders are filled out properly and assigned work is complete.
Attach proper forms to repair orders in case of audit.
Make certain that repair orders are closed out on a timely basis.
Ensure warranty time allotments on repair orders are accurate for warranty repairs.
Monitor the overall productivity of the shop, for example, number of production hours billed.
Ensure that time promises are met and alert Service Advisors of any delays.
Attend all department meetings.
Follow all company and manufacturers’ policies, directives, and procedures.
Comply with required health and safety regulations.
Perform any other duties as required.
PERFORMANCE CRITERIA:
Accuracy of work orders relative to time requirements and parts pricing.
Efficiency and timeliness of scheduling orders.
Positive feedback from advisors, customers and mechanics/technicians.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS The education and experience requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability required to perform the primary duties and responsibilities successfully.
QUALIFICATIONS
§ High School Diploma.
§ 1-2 years’ experience, preferred.
§ Knowledge of related in-house computer systems, an asset.
§ Basic understanding of mechanical terminology.
§ Knowledge of manufacturer warranty standards.
