Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable, friendly, and detail-oriented Seasonal Part-Time General Store Clerk to join our team during our busy season. Because we are a small, independent store, the successful candidate must be comfortable performing a variety of tasks and occasionally working independently. This is not a management position. However, the successful applicant must be comfortable working independently as they will play an important role in helping maintain the smooth day-to-day operation of the store.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide exceptional customer service and greet customers in a friendly manner.
Operate the cash register and accurately process cash, debit, and credit transactions.
Answer customer questions regarding products and store offerings.
Restock shelves, coolers, and displays.
Rotate stock and monitor product freshness.
Receive deliveries and assist with putting away inventory on shelves, freezer and refrigerator.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store, coolers, and work areas.
Monitor inventory levels and communicate low stock or issues to ownership.
Observe store presentation and identify items that may require attention or details that may have been overlooked.
Direct consignment vendor questions or concerns to ownership via email.
Follow food safety, sanitation, and store procedures.
Open and/or close the store according to established procedures.
Perform other general store duties as required.
Qualifications
Minimum one year experience in retail, grocery, customer service, cashier, or cafe experience.
Highschool completion minimum; 1st year of college or university preferred.
Ability to work independently and responsibly.
Strong attention to detail and initiative.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Basic computer and email skills.
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Dependable, trustworthy, and punctual.
Comfortable handling a variety of tasks in a small retail environment.

Approximately 10–25 hours per week, depending on business needs.
