Key Responsibilities
- Apply coatings such as paints, varnish, stains, stipple, wallpaper, surface preparatory materials, and undercoating materials to a variety of surfaces, interiors, and exteriors alike, all in a professional manner
- Prepare surfaces for coatings by cleaning, scraping, stripping, filling, patching, and sanding
- Maintain existing paint surfaces by matching and tinting paint products
- Determine appropriate colors for new or replacement applications through consultation with the Maintenance Supervisor
- Always remove all door handles, switch plates, thermostat covers, etc. prior to painting, and replace when the paint has dried
- Operate compressors, spray equipment, and other small power equipment
- Install, repair, and maintain drywall, wallpaper, wall texturing, and ceiling acoustic texturing
- Clean equipment, paint mixing area, and work area
- Mark and store different types of coatings in compliance with related fire and health and safety regulations, policies, and procedures
- Assemble and disassemble scaffold and climb ladders, using approved safety methods
- Dispose of paints, stains, preparatory and undercoating materials, and other hazardous materials, safely and appropriately
- Reporting and tracking all work in Yardi
- The foregoing responsibilities must be consistent with CaraCo’s Standard Operating Policies and Procedures
Education and Experience
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent education
- College diploma or vocational training preferred but not essential
- Minimum three years related experience in a similar building maintenance technician role
Other Requirements
- Employment is conditional on a clean criminal records check
- Valid driver’s license
