Lakecity Animal Hospital is a locally owned general practice, caring for our beloved canine and feline patients across the Okanagan. We are open 7 days a week from 8am-8pm, 9am-5pm on statutory holidays. We are currently looking for a full or part-time employee to join our team.
As a Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service and support to our clients and their beloved pets. You will be responsible for managing the front desk operations, including greeting clients, scheduling appointments, assisting with administrative tasks, and assisting the veterinarian with handling/treatment of patients. Your attention to detail and ability to effectively communicate with both clients and veterinary staff will contribute to the overall success of our clinic.

Prior experience in a veterinary clinic is preferable but open to training the right individual.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and check-in clients and their pets in a friendly and professional manner
-Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and respond to inquiries
-Maintain accurate records of client information, pet medical history, and appointment details
-Assist veterinary staff with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and billing
-Provide excellent customer service by addressing client concerns and ensuring a positive experience
-Attending to patient needs (i.e. administering medications, providing food/water etc.)
-Restraining animals and assisting veterinarians/technicians as needed during examinations and treatments
-Organizing and maintaining the cleanliness of all kennels and working areas

Preferred Qualifications:
-Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting is preferred
-Knowledge of common veterinary terminology and procedures is a plus
-Familiarity with laboratory procedures and equipment is a plus
-Familiarity with IDEXX Neo software and Otto flow is a plus
Pay: $19.00-$20.00 per hour
