Overview
Canada Cartage System LP is currently seeking a reliable and experienced AZ Truck Driver (Dry Van) to join our team in London, Ontario.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods using tractor-trailer (dry van) equipment across local, regional, and long-haul routes, including cross-border trips where required.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and drive tractor-trailers (articulated trucks) to transport goods and materials
- Plan or adjust routes using GPS or navigation systems to optimize efficiency
- Load and unload goods as required
- Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections of vehicle systems and equipment
- Oversee vehicle condition including tires, lights, brakes, and other equipment
- Maintain accurate records including driver logbooks, bills of lading, inspection reports, and trip reports
- Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel consumption
- Receive and relay information to dispatch and report delays, issues, or incidents
- Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and safety standards
Mandatory Requirements
- Valid AZ (Class 1) Driver’s License
- 1 year to less than 2 years of AZ driving experience
- Clean driving abstract and valid CVOR record
- Willingness to travel cross-border (U.S.) and overnight as required
- Ability to work long hours in a physically demanding environment
- Strong knowledge of transportation safety regulations
- Must meet company safety requirements (criminal record check, driver’s licence verification, abstract review)
Assets (Preferred Qualifications)
- Experience with dry van (tractor-trailer) operations
- Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELD)
- Experience with long-haul or regional routes
Education
- Secondary (High) School Graduation Certificate
