The Journeyman Machinist will play a critical role in ensuring efficient production processes and maintaining high standards of craftsmanship within our repair facility.
Duties
- Operate machinery such as lathes and milling machines with precision and adherence to specifications
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints and technical drawings to repair produce accurate parts
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, micrometers, calipers, and other measuring instruments to ensure dimensional accuracy
- Perform routine maintenance on machining equipment and troubleshoot issues promptly
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve manufacturing processes through lean manufacturing principles
- Assist in assembly, welding, or other fabrication tasks as needed to support repair goals
- Maintain a clean and organized work area following safety protocols and best practices for manufacturing environments
- Use forklift or other material handling equipment when necessary for moving raw materials or finished products
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Journeyman Machinist with strong mechanical knowledge
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, and technical specifications
- Skilled in machining operations using lathe, milling machine, hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
- Knowledge of manufacturing and remanufacturing processes including assembly, lean manufacturing principles, and safety standards
- Familiarity with micrometers calipers, basic math skills for measurements, and troubleshooting machinery issues
- Experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment is a plus
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce high-quality work consistently
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing setting
